Dr Robert Macnair opened Gilsland because he believed the sea air would do people good.
Nearly a century later, the park remains in the same family, with Adam McNair at the helm. It is still surrounded by mature trees and open grass with spacious areas to relax enjoying views of the Law to the back and the sea to the front and is just 15 minutes down the hill into North Berwick.
Some guests who first came here as children now return with their own grandchildren. That continuity, across both our family and theirs, is the part we are proudest of.
